Western Schools Surf Club in partnership with Laneez have
been developing a beach community since 2014, which provides a safe universal, rewarding and fun environment for young people and their families and friends to come together.


Since 2014

Summer terms of 2014/15
and 2015/16 La Moye Surf Club was open to Y5/6 students. Laneez offered 10 sessions of 1.5 hours during the summer term for £100. Pupils could opt for individual lessons at £12.50. 20 pupils prepaid all 10 sessions each of the two years the club ran.



Extend the club across the western parish schools that feed into Les Quennevais:
La Moye
St Peter
Mont Nicolle
St Mary
Bel Royal
Les Landes


Offer extra-curricular surf lessons during the summer term for club members.


Extend the club activities into the Summer Holidays


Grow the club through offering surf and surf related activities to a wider number of schools and age groups, including offering sessions to Jersey Pupil Premium.



Open to Y5 and 6 pupils, primarily in the Western Cluster.


Fee £20 includes:

Access to weekly 1.5 hour
surf lessons on Fridays
(4 – 5.30pm) during the summer term @ £10 per session, to pay on the day.


Surfboard and wetsuit hire
for lessons.


Post surf refreshments.


1 ticket for the last
session BBQ.


Access to summer holiday activities (weekly member’s sessions, fun family paddle relays, etc) and family events.


Discounted board and wetsuit hire from Laneez – 50%


Discounted private individual (25%) and group (20%) surf lessons from Laneez.

Safe All instructors are fully trained and insured through Laneez. Maximum ratio 1:8. Pupils are taught to respect the ocean and how to be safe whilst enjoying it.

Universal The club is open to all, no matter ability and experience.

Rewarding As well as learning to surf, members will gain confidence, life skills (co-operation, problem solving) and friends. Members will be encouraged to learn to respect the environment.

Fun Most importantly, we want all members to enjoy
being part of WSSC.
